A Carson City High School student is attempting to break a Guinness World Record — and he’s asking for help. Taylor Weddell, a senior at Carson City High School, is attempting to create the world’s largest human Christmas tree. The current record stands at 2,945, set by a group in Honduras. The event will take place on Saturday, Dec. 19 at the Carson High School Football Field, 111. Gates will open at 10 a.m., and the attempt will start at 11 a.m. All ages are welcome to attend the event, but attendees are asked to keep in mind the cold weather conditions, according to the organizer. Weddell said that, for the record to count, all participants must stand still for 6 minutes. Hot chocolate and coffee will be sold at the event, and some entertainment will be provided. Parking is limited. Taylor has been working with the Board of Directors with the Carson City Schools Foundation, and the event will benefit the Carson City Schools Foundation. While entry is free, donations to that fund will be accepted.
